Johns Hopkins University Research Technologist in Baltimore, Maryland

We are seeking a Research Technologist who will work on a project joint with biotech company. The project aims to understand the metabolic changes that are key for the development of rare autoimmune diseases. The person will work under the general supervision of a faculty investigator or laboratory supervisor. Will be responsible for performing routine analyses and tests on human fluids and/or tissue or animals or cultured cell lines.

Specific Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work requires basic use of scientific methods, procedures and techniques gained through previous training and experience.

  • Uses basic understanding of theory behind experiments and applies basic analytical skills to implement assigned projects, and to identify and trouble-shoot situations needing special attention.

  • Follows established procedures or protocols and utilizes aseptic technique to perform laboratory tests and/or experiments which may include basic tissue culture, cell separation methods, electrophoretic separations, assays, basic molecular biology, or other specialized histology and biological science techniques.

  • May utilize in vivo models in experiments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some related post-undergraduate work experience.

Starting Salary Range: $15.50 - $26.00 HRLY ($43,592 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: M-F, 830-500
