Johns Hopkins University Research Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland
We are seeking a Research Assistant to assist the PI and their research laboratory in designing, prototyping, testing, quality assurance, and documenting novel endoscopy technologies.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Able to clearly understand the project’s goals and assist project members in formulating a plan to reach those objectives on time.
Plan task and milestone completion in a complex project with many dependencies.
Monitor deadlines and submit deliverables on time.
Able to adapt to real-time changes and challenges.
Prototype design, construction, and testing.
Create CAD models based on conversations with lab researchers, published literature, and engineering fundamentals.
Construct prototypes using 3D printing, machining, harvesting of existing products, and combinations of these techniques.
Test these prototypes with researchers from the lab and update design and construction based on results.
Maintain and organize prototyping equipment and materials in the laboratory.
Edit and complete eIRB and AUCUC submissions, including new projects, continuing review, termination reports, and further study actions.
Organize general lab safety training and audits.
Ensure adherence to study protocols, study quality, and safety protocols.
Prepare manuscripts, figures, data summaries, and presentations for the research project.
Assist in preparing and submitting research grant applications.
Establish electronic design controls for documenting project insights and progress.
Update design history file (DHF) for project.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in engineering design.
Experience in mechanical prototyping.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
