Overview
TheResearch Assistant collaborates with the PIs and larger investigative team in reaching the researchgoals of the Healthy Brain Child Development (HBCD) Study. The Research Assistant will beresponsible for duties including but not limited to: MRI data collection, quality control, andpreprocessing; working as part of the larger research team which includes recruitment andretention specialists, neuropsychologists, and other imaging staff; and training undergraduateresearch assistants and interns to assist with these responsibilities.

Responsibilities
1.. Coordinates with the participant recruitment and retention team to schedule MRIappointments.
Assists with administering MRI scans and mock scan training sessions, which will includeactivities meant to promote sleep in young children (feeding, swaddling, diaper changing,rocking/soothing a child).
Performs quality control, preprocessing, and analysis of MRI data.
Evaluates technical issues, troubleshooting and resolving conflicts during the setup of newexperiments.
Manages archives of ongoing MRI study data. Archives unprocessed quantitative data, andgenerates and compiles statistical data.
Maintains clear, complete, and accurate records of data collection and analysis stepsperformed.
Assists in the development and documentation of research protocols.
Trains and oversees the work of undergraduate students assisting with all aspects of theresearch protocols.
Collaborates effectively with all members of the research team (both inside the lab andoutside).
Receives cross-training on other aspects of the HBCD protocol as needed to support theoverall goals and objectives of the larger multicomponent research initiative (e.g., behavioralassessments, EEG data acquisition).
Attends and participates in research activities involving, but not limited to, quality controlissues, and protocol development or revision, and when necessary prepares and presentsroutine and incremental updates on relevant projects.
Enhances professional growth and development through case conferences, educationalprograms, in-service meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars, including preparationof abstracts and manuscripts for publication.
Documents the results of ongoing studies, by providing text, tables and figures for scientificreview, including submissions to conferences, peer-reviewed publications, and grants
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (e.g., biology, neuroscience, psychology,biomedical engineering, computer science, or physics) required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferred
o Prior experience working with infants and/or young children in a research context.
o Experience working with women recovering from substance use disorder.
o Experience with at least one programming language, including MATLAB.
o Background in scientific research, familiar with skills including literature searches,planning of research projects, experimentation, interpretation of data, and preparationfor publications.
Minimum pay range
USD $36,226.94/Yr.
Maximum pay range
USD $58,630.00/Yr.
