Mgr. Electronics Engineering 2: RF Subsystem / RF & Mixed Signal Design and Production Test Support
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector, Combat Sensors Engineering is seeking a leader to manage its growing radio frequency (RF) subsystem / RF microwave and mixed signal electrical design engineering team. This group is responsible for architecting, designing, verifying, and supporting existing and future RF microwave and mixed signal assemblies and subsystems for antenna and signal conversion products within the Combat Sensors Engineering Hardware Section. Group skill sets include trading requirements, package and device trade studies and specification, frequency planning, RF budgeting and chain analysis, board and assembly design, electromagnetic simulation, data reduction and analysis, design verification, and production support of antenna and signal conversion products.
This position is a dual role encompassing both people and project/technical leadership.
Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead an engineering design functional group of 10 to 15 engineers including performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning
Provide project and technical oversight for design activities performed by the group
Maintain and ensure application of design processes and guidelines used in the group
Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers within the Combat Sensors business unit
Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups
Support business and functional organization initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector/business unit involvement, and internally funded projects
This position is an onsite role, located in Baltimore, MD. This position will report to the section lead of the Combat Sensors Engineering Hardware Section.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering or Technical degree
Minimum 7 years of related engineering experience including responsibility as an integrated product team or technical lead
Basic understanding of RF electronics at the assembly and subsystem levels
Must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent
10 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment
Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader
Production test support experience for RF and mixed signal assemblies and subsystems
RF and mixed signal product design, fabrication, and integration experience including, but not limited to, products in high reliability military applications
Current Secret or Top Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $145,000 - $217,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
