Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Manufacturing Organization is seeking a Manager 2, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance to join the Operations Engineering Leadership Team. The Manager 2, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance will have functional management responsibilities for a team that installs, maintains, and repairs industrial processing and manufacturing equipment.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with both technical and managerial experience to lead the Electro/Mechanical support team. The candidate will need to leverage prior hands-on experience of repair and maintenance of equipment, machines, and systems to lead and support a multi-disciplined repair organization for the 21st century in manufacturing and test.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Manage the daily operations of Engineers, Planners and Technicians; provide guidance and actively assist subordinates as required

  • Set priority and create methods to achieve department goal of zero equipment down time on critical equipment systems

  • Responsible for all personnel aspects of the department including, manpower forecasting and control, performance feedback, training, and attendance monitoring

  • Interface with union representatives and Northrop Grumman Labor Relations department

  • Prepare and coordinate repair plans and schedules in support of new or existing process and systems within the Engineering, Manufacturing and Test environments

  • Develop proactive maintenance plans for technical support and monitoring of cost, schedule, and performance against program baselines

  • Effectively formulate and execute courses of actions in a dynamic work environment

  • Lead mentoring and career development activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of relevant experience (or 7 years with a Master’s degree). Candidates with a High School diploma and 13 years and candidates with an Associate’s degree and 11 years will also be considered.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading or managing projects or personnel, including resource management

  • Hands on experience in repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems

  • Experience managing and maintaining supplier for repair and maintenance tasks

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical discipline plus 9 years relevant experience

  • Experience working in a union environment

  • Two or more years of experience leading and managing production or development support tasks related to installation, repair and support of process and test equipment

  • Experience resolving technical challenges that arise from breakdown of factory equipment

  • Hands on ability to diagnose, repair, troubleshoot and maintain electronic or mechanical subsystems such as conveyors, pumps, motors, PLC, sensors, robots or micro-processors controls

  • Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Corrective Action, Key Process Indicator (KPI) or 6-sigma with ability to achieve zero down time

  • Understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and equipment maintainability

  • Experience with SAP, Maximo or other maintenance Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Salary Range: $112,200 - $168,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
