The Embrace Initiative at the University of Maryland, Baltimore has an exciting opportunity for a Contractual Lead Social Worker.The Lead Social Worker accomplishes responsibilities by applying specialized and theoretical knowledge, principles, and concepts of a professional discipline normally acquired through advanced education or specialized training. The selected candidate resolves issues and significant matters on behalf of management by utilizing independent judgment, discretion, creativity, and analytical thinking. They contribute to development and evaluation of goals and objectives; and create solutions to ensure legal and policy compliance. The Lead Social Worker may supervise, mentor, or coordinate work of others (positions that supervise are responsible for service delivery, quality assurance, and employee performance), and may independently manage or administer programs, processes, projects, or resources. The Lead Social Worker is responsible for interacting with multiple agencies - Department of Human Services, Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, and Department of Juvenile Services to manage families service plans. /This is a Contractual position./ The mission of The Embrace Initiative is to collaborate with community to create a world that is safe, just, and equitable. Primary Duties * Lead Social Worker is responsible for a program or resources oversight. Lead Social Worker uses individualized plans to provide social services and apply the theories, knowledge, procedures, methods, and/or ethics derived from a formal educational program. * Assess risk by screening and interviewing clients. Identify and constructs service plans that best meet the client’s needs, and determine best resources available. * Develop plans by identifying programs and services available for a variety client issues dealing with challenges, change, and crisis. * Responsibility for program elements. * Maintain case history records and document client(s) progress. May perform chart reviews and generates notes on evaluations, therapy sessions, reports and other accountability measures. * Counsel and diagnose individuals, groups, families, or communities regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, child care, and/or medical care in accordance with licensure. * Provide training, guidance, and support to others preparing for use of resources. * Lead a social services program, project, or team management. * Assist in development of policies, protocols, or procedures as requested. * Responsible for review and submission of authorized documentation for reimbursement. * Performs other duties as assigned. Education:Master's degree in Social Work. Experience:Two (2) years of post-licensure Certified Social Work - Clinical (LCSW-C) experience related in the area of treatment including responsibility for training, work coordination, and monitoring the work of others. Supervisory Experience:State of Maryland Board Approval as a designated supervisor. Certification/Licensure:Licensed as Certified Social Work - Clinical (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland. Other:No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
