Description:

• Verifies patient health insurance coverage and obtains authorization for Inpatient hospital admissions as well as STP, Day Feeding and Community Rehab programs

• Estimates deposit requirements and communicates with patient/family re: estimated patient financial liability.

• Tracks 3808 authorization and billing process, coordinates the long-term care application process.

• Verifies all Medicaid patient’s eligibility daily.

• Performs registration function for Inpatient admissions in EPIC.

• Obtains patient consents for Inpatient admission.

Skills: Authorization, eligibility, healthcare, data entry, Microsoft Office, administrative support, EPIC.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Must have high school diploma or higher

• Ideal candidate will have 3+ years working within a financial counselor, eligibility specialist, authorization specialist, or medical billing role.

• Must come from an inpatient setting.

• Experience with Medicaid.

• EPIC experience.

• Must have strong computer/communication skills-- will be using word, outlook, basic excel daily.

• Must have strong insurance experience and be familiar with all payers.
