Description

Robert Half is immediately looking to identify a Sales & Customer Support Specialist to join a small, family owned food manufacturer in Baltimore, MD.

Position Overview:

The Sales & Customer Support Specialist plays a vital role in managing the end-to-end customer purchase order process. This position is responsible for onboarding new customers, obtaining credit approval from Finance for recurring orders, and ensuring seamless coordination between production and shipping. The Specialist will also handle invoice generation, billing, and provide comprehensive sales support. Additionally, this role involves managing customer communications, account management, discrepancy resolution, and special projects assigned by the Director of Sales/Marketing. Light office support functions, including maintaining and purchasing office supplies, managing the front office, and greeting visitors, are also part of the responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the customer purchase order process from start to finish.

  • Smoothly onboard new customers, ensuring a seamless transition.

  • Enter orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring to convert measurements/metric units accordingly and as needed.

  • Provide overall sales support, including preparing quotations and assisting with price changes.

  • Prepare and ship samples to potential clients.

  • Coordinate with Production to ensure timely processing and shipment of orders.

  • Generate and send invoices, handling all aspects of billing.

  • Manage customer communications, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.

  • Oversee account management, ensuring customers are in good standing.

  • Handle discrepancy resolution promptly and effectively.

  • Gather and manage valuable prospect information.

  • Create and analyze insightful sales reports.

  • Contribute to dynamic marketing campaigns.

  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales/Marketing.

  • Provide general office support including maintaining/purchasing office supplies and managing all front office activity.

    Requirements

  • 2+ years of B2B customer service and sales support experience including order management, quotes, purchase orders, etc.

  • Manufacturing/distribution industry experience is required; Food manufacturing industry experience is preferred!

  • Degree is required; Associates minimally is required.

  • Must have experience using an ERP/CRM system; QuickBooks and Salesforce experience specifically is preferred.

  • Good with numbers with the proficiency and/or ability to convert measurements/metrics.

  • Must be personable, friendly, articulate, and customer service oriented.

  • Self-motivated, team player, solutions driven, and a good problem solver.

  • Possesses a high attention to detail, strong ability to multitask, and quick learning aptitude.
