Job Title: Assistant Operations Manager

Job Description

As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will actively oversee the work floor, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed and new processes are implemented. You will collaborate and communicate with employees, management, vendors, and the Corporate office to meet company and department objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Assistant Supervisor on evening and weekend shifts

  • Direct warehouse personnel to achieve prescribed objectives, including timely inbound inventory processing

  • Head and oversee the warehouse Safety Committee, participate in implementing and managing safety-related processes

  • Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are on target for safety, cost, quality, inventory accuracy, and capacity

  • Work directly with department Leads to maintain workflow of production throughout the warehouse

  • Create a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees to provide feedback and drive change within the facility

  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, cleanliness, quality, cost, and delivery while expanding warehouse capabilities

  • Utilize the prescribed performance management process to drive performance excellence

  • Facilitate and lead the creation and maintenance of a healthy, clean, and visual work environment to attract, train, and retain talent

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years management experience in a warehouse-type environment

  • Experience overseeing 35+ employees including team leads

  • Supporting effective Safety protocols

  • Ability to operate in a 'Customer First' environment

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

  • Experience leading large teams in a multi-shift, high-velocity environment

  • Proficiency in WMS, MHE systems, Time/attendance, and MS Office applications

  • Inventory management experience with a heavy SKU environment

Work Environment

This position is based in Halethorpe, MD and requires flexibility to work multiple shifts, including 2nd Shift hours and weekends. The work environment focuses on maintaining a healthy, clean, and visual workspace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Halethorpe, Maryland

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $36.05/hr.
