Office Services Clerk
Recruitment: The State Highway Administration's (SHA) Office of Administration is currently recruiting for an Office Services Clerk position in Baltimore City. This is an Interview and Hire position that is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below.
This announcement many also be used for future SHA vacancies throughout the state of Maryland.

Nature of Work: The main purpose of the Office Services Clerk is to support the Central Mailroom Operations and Central Supply Room operations located at the Headquarters Facility. The mailroom receives approximately 9,000 pieces and exports approximately 10,000 pieces of mail monthly. The duties include receiving, sorting, processing, posting, and sending mail which includes letters, boxes, packages, engineering plans and specifications for Central Mailroom Operations at Headquarters, for SHA's seven districts, the Hanover complex and offices and the shops within those districts.
This position also receives/processes supply orders and prepares requisitions for stock replacement to maintain inventory thresholds. The position will help resolve discrepancies regarding physical inventory levels or disputes in prices or purchases with vendors. This position requires performance of accurate entry of data into the Bradley Inventory System Supply Room.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing clerical duties.
Notes:
Additional experience performing clerical duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Applicants may substitute education from an accredited college or university at the rate of thirty semester credit hours for one year of experience on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Six months clerical training with three courses in subjects such as keyboarding, clerical math, word processing, spreadsheets, database, graphics presentation, proofreading, or office etiquette may be substituted for six months of the required experience.
Licenses & Certifications
Candidate must possess a driver's license valid in the state of Maryland.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climbing, excessive standing, bending, crawling, confined seating, operating a keyboard.
