Job Title: Clinical Laboratory ScientistJob Description

Under supervision, the Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs all phases of laboratory testing, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes, with speed and accuracy as authorized under California State Business and Professions Code. The role involves analyzing test results tailored to various patient populations such as pediatric, neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. The scientist is responsible for reviewing and reporting test results accurately to the appropriate provider or location, maintaining quality control and assurance, and adhering to preventive maintenance protocols according to department policy. Additional duties include recording instrument preventive maintenance, documenting maintenance procedures, verifying test sample requirements, and performing testing as outlined in the department’s procedure manual. The role also includes data entry into laboratory computer systems and completing proficiency testing and competency assessments.

Hard Skills

• 1 Year of experience as a CLS

• Experience as a Medical Technician in the U.S. if not U.S. trained

• Valid California State CLS license

• Experience with laboratory computer systems

Soft Skills

• Ability to work under supervision

• Accuracy in test result analysis and reporting

• Time management and productivity in completing procedures during assigned shifts

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Baldwin Park, California.

Work Environment

This position is based in the main lab at the main site, with a requirement for open availability including potentially PM and NOC shifts.
