Summary

The F-16 Wheel and Tire Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and servicing of F-16 aircraft wheels and tires to ensure safety, reliability, and mission readiness. This specialist plays a critical role in aircraft upkeep by performing detailed inspections, repairs, and replacements as needed to meet Air Force standards

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect and Service Wheels and Tires.

  • Repair and Replace Components.

  • Maintain safety procedures and cleanliness of shop.

  • Record and document maintenance activities.

  • Maintain library of regulations, procedures, and technical manuals.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.

  • In order to obtain a secret clearance, qualified candidates must have US Citizenship.

  • Ability to pass physical screening requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Must have at least 5 years of related experience.

  • F-16 experience is strongly preferred.

Work Conditions

Position is located OCONUS and in an austere environment; work is being performed on the flight line, limited hangar or aviation field environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and parts, tooling and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs, including up and down stairs.

  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.

  • Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
