Description
Robert Half is in search for a Tax Manager to join our client in the Greater Philadelphia area. The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance and planning for the organization. As the Tax Manager, you will lead a team of tax professionals, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and ensure adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations. Your role will involve managing tax strategies, identifying opportunities for tax optimization, and providing guidance on tax-related matters to support the company’s financial objectives.
Responsibilities: include:
Ensure the prompt and precise preparation and submission of all tax returns, including income, sales, property, and other relevant taxes.
Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and regulations, making necessary updates to maintain compliance.
Oversee the team's tax calculations and documents, confirming their accuracy and conformity with laws and regulations.
Formulate and apply tax planning strategies to enhance the organization's tax stance while reducing liabilities.
Evaluate business dealings, acquisitions, and investments for tax consequences, advising on ways to lessen tax risks and increase advantages.
Handle tax audits, inquiries, and disputes, coordinating with tax authorities when required.
Perform internal audits to spot potential tax problems and take remedial measures.
Requirements
The ideal Tax Manager candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. Master’s Degree in Taxation or a relevant certification (e.g., CPA) is highly preferred.
Other requirements for the Tax Manager position include and are not limited to:
8+ years in tax compliance, planning, and strategy, preferably within a corporate tax department or public accounting firm.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to business scenarios.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel)
