The Quality Control Inspector for a Tea Beverage Company plays a critical role in ensuring that all tea products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and consistency. This position involves inspecting raw materials, monitoring the production process, conducting final product inspections, and ensuring compliance with both company specifications and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of beverage production processes, food safety standards, and sensory evaluation techniques.
salary: $18 - $21 per hour

work hours: 6 AM - 2:30 PM

Responsibilities
Inspect incoming tea leaves, botanicals, flavors, sweeteners, and other ingredients for compliance with quality specifications, including sensory attributes (e.g., aroma, appearance, taste) and physical characteristics.
Monitor the tea production process, from steeping, blending, filtration, and pasteurization (if applicable), to ensure consistency and quality throughout.
Conduct microbiological testing on tea products to ensure they are free of contaminants, such as bacteria, yeast, and mold. Ensure products meet required safety and shelf-life standards.
Perform sensory analysis (taste, smell, visual, and tactile) of tea beverages at various stages of production to ensure flavor consistency, aroma, color, and clarity.
Use appropriate equipment to test for key product attributes such as pH, dissolved solids, flavor profile, and caffeine content (if applicable). Ensure products meet specifications for these parameters.
Inspect finished tea beverages for packaging integrity, proper labeling, and consistency in product quality (taste, appearance, packaging).
Verify that all labels and packaging meet regulatory and company standards, including ingredient lists, nutritional facts, and allergen information.
Record inspection results, test data, and any deviations from quality standards. Maintain accurate logs of quality control activities and generate reports for management.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, FDA, GMP)
The essential functions of this role include:

wearing steel toe shoes
working in a non-temperature controlled environment
manual lifting up to 50lbs
standing for 7 hours at one time
working weekends
