Position Purpose:

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City, OR is hiring a Cook to support the Food and Nutrition Services Department. This position is responsible for food production, assembly and sanitation of equipment, patient care service and cashiering in the cafeteria for breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

Position Highlights and Benefits:

  • Schedule Information: This position will be scheduled for 40 hours a week. Shifts may include weekends, weekdays or holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in related field preferred.

  • Food Handlers permit required.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepares and assembles food items for patients on regular and modified diets, as well as cafeteria customers.

  • Delivers and retrieves patient food trays.

  • Serves food items to cafeteria customers.

  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work areas.

  • Assists in dish room as needed.

  • May be required to shuttle food products to off campus locations (if this is a requirement of the position then a driver's license record will be required and a valid driver's license).

  • Competency in basic reading and oral communication.

  • Must be able to operate equipment used by Food Service staff.

  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble machines to keep equipment clean.
