Aston Carter Accounting Analyst in Baie-D Urfé, Quebec

Description:

  • Monitor capitalizable and non-capitalizable expenses in compliance with current guidelines, IFRS international standards

  • Ensure the completeness of data relating to fixed assets in the Capex database; Budget, Committed and Invoiced and produce a monthly project follow-up.

  • Support project managers in tracking project expenditure.

  • Manage fixed asset database and assign TAG numbers.

  • Monthly accounting and verification of depreciation by cost center, explaining variances from budget.

  • Calculate depreciation for budgetary purposes.

  • Ensure that commissioning, scrapping, disposals or relocations of fixed assets are carried out in compliance with site procedures and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that the fixed asset inventory process follows established procedures to identify movements, transfers, sales and scrapping.

  • Update fixed asset management procedures in compliance with IFRS international standards.

  • Approve CAPEX DAs and feed them into the fixed assets in progress file.

  • Monthly reconciliation of fixed vs. auxiliary accounts, including continuity schedule

Participate in month-end work:

  • Issue intercompany invoices.

  • Validate inter-company flows and confirm balances.

  • Assist the Accounting Manager in entering reporting statements (FCCS bundles).

  • Perform account extractions and analyses.

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with monthly closing tasks, including follow-up of monthly reconciliations.

  • Respond to various ad hoc requests for information.

  • Participate and carry out other year-end work (audit file).

  • Analysis of indirect costs versus budget & participation in preparation with managers for monthly meeting with written report and action plan with Directors for FFOH review.

  • Approval of Opex DAs and invoices according to approved delegation of authority.

  • Responsible for DPS follow-up.

  • Reconcile sales and COGS.

  • Finance referent for social club activities (budget, supplier creation, DA).

  • Any related tasks or requests required by the Accounting Manager.

  • Bachelor in Accounting

  • CPA designation or obtaining it:

  • 3+ years of experience in a role such as a chief accountant, assistant controller, controller and or accounting manager

  • Bilingual French and English

  • CAP EX + FIX ASSETS

  • Advanced Excel
