What You Will Do

  • Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.

  • Serve as Project Manager or Technical Advisor, on small-to-medium site construction, expansion or modification projects.

  • Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.

  • Collaborate in site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas.

  • Assist in the development and evaluation of Appropriation Request (AR) for capital funding.

  • Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

  • High School diploma or GED  and  seven (7) years of Engineering experience, * OR*

  • Bachelor's degree in a Scientific discipline * and*  three (3) years of Engineering experience

  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Transformer maintenance and installation experience.

  • Substation switchgear installation and maintenance (preferable SF6 breakers and circuit switchers) experience.

  • Experience developing red line prints.

  • Experience with installing and upgrading protective relays.

  • Experience with baker motor testing equipment and ability to interpret baker motor tester results.

  • Ability to lead people and develop others.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently  $87,000-$121,000  This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
