Avient Corporation Lead Production Process Technician in Avon Lake, Ohio
Job Summary The Lead Process Technician ensures that proper process conditions are established by manufacturing. They collaborate with Plant Process Engineers and the manufacturing team to address process deviations and inform the engineers about changes in process conditions. As a key member of the manufacturing team, the Lead Process Technician assists in manufacturing trials, is responsible for initial troubleshooting, and helps with process set-ups. Additionally, this position coordinates area activities in the absence of the Supervisor or Shift Leads. Essential Functions Works in conjunction with the Shift/Production Supervisor and Shift leads to efficiently prioritize team efforts and to assure that quality and shipments are met and data integrity requirements are accomplished. Provides manufacturing operations support and basic technical expertise. Asists in ensuring employees are versed in proper procedures regarding consumption or raw materials. Help print packets and train employees when necessary. Establishes and documents processing parameters and/or product characteristics to obtain optimum productivity, consistent quality of product and to meet the customer's specifications. Works with production employees on trials, first-time runs and start-ups. Supports the plant process engineers in their daily tasks Helps the shift leadership team in all matters of safe work practices, housekeeping and environmental compliance; reporting exceptions when necessary. Lead equipment changeovers with production Participates in training new employees and re-training associates in processes and methods as required. Supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company. Follows applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety rules and guidelines while performing any procedure. As needed, covers for Shift/Production Supervisor/lead when not present. Other duties as assigned. Physical/Environ. Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally handle up to 250 pounds. Specific vision abilities may be required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc. The noise level in the word environment is usually moderate with the exception of high noise areas. Proper personal safety equipment needs to be used while performing this job and that equipment is dictated by the plant safety guidelines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock, vibration, non-hazardous chemical agents and outside weather conditions.
