Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Vascular Technologist, you are responsible for performing non-invasive and invasive vascular procedures including but not limited to carotid, venous, renal, and arterial doppler procedures including venous ablation and sclerotherapy. You will work closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies and procedures while also promoting optimal unit operations.
You will demonstrate an effective working knowledge of all equipment used in Cardiology and related to their job functions.
You will perform complete 2-dimensional, color flow, and Spectral Doppler exams according to protocol
You will notify physicians of any positive findings that need attention prior to patient’s release
You will provide preliminary measurements and interpretations of examinations
You will perform necessary equipment checks and QC procedure and reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
You will maintain adequate supply of materials for vascular lab
You will review and revise lab protocol to maintain a high level of efficiency
Job Requirements
Education
- Associates degree from an approved ultrasound technology education program
Licenses and Certifications
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS(RVT)) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International certification as a Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI(RVS))
BLS Certification as per St. David’s Healthcare policy
