About TTSTC The Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company (TTSTC) is a special-purpose entity that manages, safeguards, and invests public funds and securities belonging to the state of Texas, its agencies and local political subdivisions of the state. TTSTCs special-purpose entity status provides the Comptrollers office direct access to specialized investment services and programs enabling the Comptroller to achieve the highest return at the lowest cost to the state. General description Join the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company as a Paralegal! Working within the TTSTC Legal Department, the Paralegal performs highly advanced/or supervisory (senior- level) legal assistant work which involves coordinating legal activities; researching, analyzing, investigating, and drafting legal documents; electronic and hard copy document and file management; and assisting attorneys with successful work management. May plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others. Demonstrates the ability to apply knowledge of TTSTC, investment industry, and legal concepts to daily tasks to contribute to the TTSTC legal department in a thoughtful and effective manner. The candidate must have the ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply knowledge appropriately in a highly active environment with ever-changing circumstances. Work Hours Agency standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week with occasional evening and weekend hours. Hours are subject to change based upon business need or division determination. This position may be eligible for a flexible/hybrid work schedule if certain conditions are met; working arrangements may change at any time as business necessitates. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associates degree. Ten years of legal assistance/paralegal work experience. Preferred Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree or with major course work in law or a related field Legal assistance/paralegal work experience in the context of investment-related functions or activities LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS Su cessful completion of a Paralegal certificate or relevant experience required. SUMMARY OF PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Employees are required to use their personal mobile phones as a part of 2 factor/multi factor authentication for accessing CPA systems securely. You will also receive critical/emergency calls/texts on your cell phone to ensure immediate communication. In this role you will Document and file management: o Management of an electronic document/file system for legal and related documents, including centralization of document entry ensuring consistency in naming conventions and document classification o Collect, record and maintain files and other documents Draft and respond to correspondence, open records requests, and opinion requests involving legal interpretations and decisions. Research and analyze legal sources such as statutes, case law, administrative records, opinions, articles, treaties, and rules and regulations. Assist attorneys with reviewing and analyzing limited partnership agreements and other investment documents, including documents pertaining to direct investments such as shareholder agreements, investment rights agreements, certificates of incorporation and stock purchase agreements. Prepare, review and edit legal documents. Prepare synopses, abstracts or summaries of complex legal issues. Draft cost analyses and bill summaries for proposed legislation, and tracks and analyzes relevant legislation. Perform other related work as assigned. Maximize Your Earnings!
