Job Title: Test Technician

Job Description

The Test Technician is responsible for the leak checking and functional testing of custom electro-mechanical equipment. Different shifts are available!

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and troubleshooting of general electronic, electro-mechanical assemblies, automation systems, and machines to meet production schedule.

  • Explain test results and schedules to other team members, area leads, or supervisors.

  • Provide input and recommendations to area lead and other team members on improvement opportunities based on data and observations.

  • Maintain adherence to production, test, and quality system procedures; retrieve test procedures from corporate databases.

  • Utilize both manual and automated tests to perform system-level testing to ensure product quality and reliability in accordance with company specifications.

  • Work cooperatively on the project work team; document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Essential Skills

  • Assembly, mechanical, hand tool, power tool, electrical, schematic, wiring, debugging, electronics, electronic testing and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with leak testing using Helium.

  • Experience with final test and failure analysis.

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

  • Production and manufacturing experience.

  • Strong organizational and computer skills.

  • Experience with quality checks, blueprint reading, micrometer use, hand tools, power tools, parts list, materials, mechanical and cable assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of experience performing leak testing in a semiconductor environment and ability to troubleshoot and repair leaks.

  • 2-5+ years of experience performing final test including failure analysis.

  • Ability to describe how to facilitate/de-facilitate a unit and troubleshoot faults during tests.

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Mechanically inclined with a fair level of dexterity to construct simple test setups per documented instructions and procedures.

  • Ability to read and comprehend technical instructions, drawings, and procedures.

  • Knowledgeable with using a variety of measurement and test equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused.

  • Ability to work extended or non-standard work schedules to meet specific personal training, department, and production needs.

  • Ability to work well with others and foster a learning atmosphere within a team environment.

  • Applicable knowledge of Microsoft Office and various other Windows/DOS-based applications along with general software and computer experience to operate and monitor test equipment.

Work Environment

Openings available for 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm) with one Level 1 and one Level 2 opening. This is a professional and team-oriented manufacturing environment. Physical demands include the ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp. Ability to stand for sustained periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs., with assistance for over 25 lbs. Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers, and required visual acuity to perform tasks. Environmental exposure includes hazards such as electrical current, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals. Personal protective equipment is required, and there may be exposure to moderate noise levels from printers, faxes, computers, etc.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.15/hr.
