Amazon Technical Program Manager II, Platform Security in Austin, Texas

Description

Amazon is looking for a highly motivated Technical Program Manager with strong insight and passion for security to ensure our infrastructure and networking technologies are designed and operate to the highest security standards. The successful candidate will drive and deliver complex security initiatives to reduce Amazon’s security risk. In this role, you will have the opportunity for security impact on a global scale.

Key job responsibilities

  • Deliver inventive, scalable solutions to solve complex security issues for Amazon customers

  • Dive deep into the larger business picture and the technical solutions being built to drive the right security outcomes

  • Work closely with security engineers who build and maintain systems to make appropriate tactical tradeoffs

  • Manage the overall schedule of security engineering programs, scope engineering efforts, set project priorities, secure resources, proactively mitigate risks, and keep the scope of engineering efforts under control.

  • Own all program communication, including updates for leadership and cross-organizational stakeholders

  • Ensure right success metrics are in place and trracked

  • Support strategic planning efforts to make sure the organization is heading in the right direction

About the team

The Platform Security Team is responsible for securing Amazon’s cloud-centric platforms. We focus our efforts to secure Cloud, Networking, and Software Supply Chain domains to protect Customer data while empowering our Amazon builder teams to innovate using secured platforms and networks. The Platform Security Team is comprised of an accomplished security engineering core with a mandate to define and implement solutions that impact services at the scale of Amazon. Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 2+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience in system design

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
