Function 1: ModelingEstablish technical specifications and direction for the development, validation, and application of disease dynamic models to address critical public health challengesCreate new reusable and reproducible software components for CFA modelsAnalyze existing models to identify risks and redundanciesLead design, implementation, and execution of unit, integration and system testsfor CFA modelsIdentification and formulation of novel research questions of public health concernFunction 2: Technical Leadership and CoordinationProvide specialized software, optimization, and statistical skills to team membersImplement collaborative software infrastructure, oversee software quality and system modifications, help team members improve workflow and code qualityCreate standards for software performance and internal documentation and oversee implementationFunction 3: CommunicationsDissemination of results to scientists, public health agencies, and general public via software code and tools, publications, reports, and presentationsWork with public health partners to provide quantitative ways to validate models and conduct acceptance (real-world) testsAct as a liaison and professionally represent the Meyers Lab and UT Center for Pandemic Decision Science with various stakeholders, including local, state, and national government agencies.Function 4: Ad HocOther lab needs as they arise
