Key job responsibilities
As a Robotics Deployment Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM), you will have the responsibility of overseeing multiple deployment projects involved in deploying Amazon Robotics solutions. This includes deployments at both new construction sites and live fulfillment centers. The site project manager's role entails planning the site deployment, being the single point of contact on-site, tracking deployment progress, triaging risks as they come up, troubleshooting technical challenges, managing third party vendors, and managing escalations on-site. They will be responsible for leading a site's deployment, and will several sites throughout the year focusing on planning, execution to closeout, with project duration ranging from weeks to months.
The ideal candidate should be proactive and take independent initiative in managing their projects. They should be able to identify opportunities and risks within the partner teams they work with. Their leadership and communication skills are expected to be strong, as they will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure smooth execution of projects, especially when escalations arise. The projects they manage may be in any stage of a product's lifecycle and may experience significant growth during deployment cycles. Therefore, the candidate should be capable of scaling with this growth, supporting hiring and development efforts.
The site project manager should be able to build out new work scopes on a project including generating RFPs, set requirements and SLAs for vendors, and managing resource expectations. As a project manager, you will typically own a full site from deployment planning, execution to customer hand-over. It will be your responsibility to set standards and maintain quality within your scope of responsibility. The role requires comfort in dealing with highly technical work scopes related to the installation of robotics equipment, as well as addressing typical project management escalations that may arise during installations at construction sites or live operation warehouses.
Project duration can range from a few days to several months and include travel across the US and should the candidate be open to it some international work.
This position requires 50-75% travel. Valid US driver’s license required.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Seattle, Boston, Austin
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
3+ years of experience with infrastructure projects of new sites or existing site launches from initiation to closure
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of project leadership experience. Experience managing site projects, budgets and decentralized resources to execute project goals.
Experience working in a global environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities.
Ability to travel frequently both within country and occasional internationally (5%).
Experience with procurement of equipment.
Experience in Robotics, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or other warehouse environments.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
Experience leading cross-functional teams/projects.
Knowledge of Project management tools ( PPM, Clarity, MPP or Jira)
Preferred qualifications
PMP Certification
3+ years of experience with technical project management.
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Understanding of Robotic, Construction, IT, MHE infrastructure infrastructure and service concepts
Site launch experience deployments packaging and robotics automation in retail, distribution, logistics or similar
Large scale Technical project implementation experience
Experience working with Global (distributed, virtual) teams preferred.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
