Position Overview: The Teacher Incentive Allotment Teacher Observation and Data Collection Specialist will play a critical role in the planning and implementation House Bill 3s Teacher Incentive Allotment, which aims to provide a pathway for outstanding Texas teachers to earn six-figure salaries. This role will lead districts in strengthening their ability to measure the performance of teachers through classroom observations. This roles work will primarily focus on the following key areas: (1) developing and delivering high-quality technical assistance and guidance related to teacher observation requirements in statewide appraisal systems and TIA local designation systems; (2) support districts and Education Service Centers (ESCs) with the statutory requirements and implementation of teacher observation practices within the TIA local designation system application; and (3) promoting best practices for the annual TIA data collection and submission processes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with the collection and analysis of appraisal data and the development and delivery of technical assistance for a variety of district leadership roles and responsibilities. This individual will report to the Manager of Statewide Appraisal Systems. Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates. Teacher Observation: Develop and promote high-quality technical assistance and resources that will support districts in measuring teacher observations that meet statutory compliance and align to evidence-based practices.2. TIA Approval Process: Contribute to and implement the annual process for evaluating locally developed teacher designation system applications in alignment with statutory requirements and best practices in teacher observation.3. Data Collection: Manage external partnership to develop high-quality technical assistance to promote best practices and support statewide implementation of appraisal and TIA data collection.4. Data Submission: Support work related to the Teacher Incentive Allotment's data submission process, which allows districts to designate teachers to generate an allotment. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university Experience: At least four (4) years of experience in education or public policy. Substitutions: An advanced degree may substitute for two years of required experience.
