See details about what we do. This position is a member of our Enforcement division. HERES WHAT YOULL BE DOING Research noncompliance allegations, and prepare specific materials including penalty calculations, letters, memos, orders, and technical requirements to support extremely complex enforcement actions. Interact with respondents to encourage compliance, to settle enforcement actions, and as appropriate, to initiate use of Supplemental Environmental Projects (SEP). Provide technical assistance to support final case resolution; prepare cases for administrative or judicial review. Coordinate communication between attorneys, investigators, and enforcement staff. Provide testimony at commissioners agendas, administrative hearings, or civil trials. Assist staff in preparing and participating in the commission agenda process, and administrative and judicial hearings. Track cases from initiation to closure to ensure case status is documented in the Agency database completely and accurately. Refer closed cases for follow-up actions to include order tracking. Ensure proper transition of case responsibilities. Provide complex consultative technical assistance, including presentations and training, to the public, government officials, agency staff and others regarding enforcement actions, agency rules and/or policies. Perform quality assurance reviews of pending enforcement actions ensuring that all documents are complete, accurate, and consistent with statutes, regulations, and agency/division procedures. Qualifications: KEY QUALIFICATIONS Experience determining compliance with environmental rules, statutes, and/or policies. Experience coordinating, managing, or overseeing multiple projects, cases, or accounts Experience in mentoring Experience in reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness EDUCATION EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, criminal justice, or related field, plus six years of full-time experience in environmental activities. One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education. OR A masters degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, or related fields plus five years of the required experience. OR A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, science, environmental science, criminal justice, or related fields plus four years of the required experience. CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within theNatural Resources Specialist V state classification.
