YOUR FUTURE TEAM As part of TCEQ Administrative Services, you would help support the logistical and operational structure for TCEQ statewide -- the business foundation for the whole agency. See details about what we do. This position is a member of our Budget and Planning Division. KEY QUALIFICATIONS Experience in reviewing and/or maintaining financial and/or position/personnel management data. Experience in developing budgetary or personnel/position reports; and/or presenting problems and solutions to management. Training or experience in the use of Microsoft Access, and/or Excel. HERES WHAT YOULL BE DOING... Provide support for the overall budget process including, position control management and reporting, for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Evaluate and approve personnel actions and offers, ensuring adequate funding and compliance with established guidelines, rules and statutory requirements. Compile and maintain position control/FTE data and reports for use in management decisions and reporting, including extraction, summarization, and analysis of data from internal and external financial and position management systems. Complete ad hoc and special studies to provide a foundation for management decisions; establish work methods and priorities; and determine methods and techniques for position control reporting and documentation of recommended solutions. Develop and maintain procedures for routine tasks and projects. Qualifications: EDUCATION EXPERIENCE Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major course work in business, public administration, or a related field, plus two years of full-time experience in a professional or technical capacity involving budget preparation or analysis. OR Three years of full-time experience in auditing, accounting, budget preparation, financial management, statistical analysis; or other responsible analytical or professional work that provided a knowledge of programs, budget procedures, budget execution, budgetary and financial relationships with workloads of organizational elements, organizational structure, and work processes of the organization. OR Registration as a Certified Public Accountant or a master's degree from an accredited college or university in public affairs, business administration, public administration, or a related field may be substituted for one year of the experience.
