Your Impact at SAM

The Subject Matter Expert role is responsible for applying engineering and surveying fundamentals toprojects by providing internal technical training and support. This role is also responsible for selectingand recommending hardware and software tools and assisting with standard procedures to maximizeefficiency and accuracy. The staff in this role will be responsible for teaching CAD, Surveying, or Engineering fundamentals to the entire SAM organization.

  • Supports the Company to achieve its vision and mission, while successfully practicing its corevalues related to employees, ethics, operational excellence, safety, integrity and corporate socialresponsibility;

  • Work with departments to develop workflows for new or existing project types;

  • Provide high level (2nd tier) application support for production specific software;

  • Provide or coordinate training for production specific desktop software as needed;

  • Provide project technical support on as needed basis;

  • Coordinate with Information Technology on production related issues and assist in resolving;

  • Assist in maintaining production and deliverable standards;

  • Research new and emerging technology and recommend as needed;

  • Maintain relationships with vendor technical support and product managers;

  • Coordinate with vendor support to resolve high level software issues;

  • Integration and support of third party software solutions;

  • Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company’s strategic goals;

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

What You Bring to SAM

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 2 years of related technical experience; Associates Degree in related field and 5 years of related technical experience or 8 years of progressive responsibility of related technical experience;

  • Ability to work Independently;

  • Advanced level ability with production software platforms; Trimble, Autodesk, Bentley, Esri.

  • Advanced knowledge of Surveying, Mapping and GIS processes

  • Ability to perform complex troubleshooting/problem solving

  • Advanced knowledge of Engineering and GIS processes;

  • Proficient with Microsoft technology stack with proficiency with Windows operating systems

  • Basic Knowledge of computer networking concepts;

  • Working knowledge of databases such as MS SQL is a plus;
