TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION Staff Assistant (Austin) in Austin, Texas

The Texas Workforce Commission, a Certified Best Place for Working Parents, is looking for a Staff Assistant to the Chairman, Commissioner Representing the Public. The job is based in our agency headquarters on the north lawn of the Texas State Capitol in Austin. What You Will Do The Staff Assistant (Program Specialist I) performs routine (journey-level) consultative services, technical assistance, and administrative office support work. Work will be performed under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment. Opportunities for increased responsibilities and promotions are available for a team member who demonstrates increased knowledge and skills and excellent teamwork.

You Will Be Trusted To: -Perform an array of technical, training, research, planning, policy, program assessment, and administrative activities related to program assignment. -Coordinate and perform general office duties such as filing and maintaining a filing system, answering and routing phone calls, and ordering and maintaining office supplies. -Coordinate meetings, conferences and seminars, and prepares related materials. -Explain and disseminate information concerning agency programs and procedures. -Assist with schedules and travel arrangements for Commissioner. -Perform related work as assigned.

YOU QUALIFY WITH: -Six months of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency. -Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
