SHI Sr. Cloud Engineer - Azure/AW in Austin, Texas

Job Summary

We seek an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with a strongAzure and AWS platformbackground. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing scalable, high-performance cloud architectures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and automation within our cloud environments.

This position is required to report to the SHI Somerset NJ and SHI Austin office location as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

  • Design, deploy, andmaintaincloud infrastructure inAzureandAWSenvironments

  • Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools likeTerraform, CloudFormation, andARM templates

  • Monitor cloud performance, performcapacityplanning, and ensure system stability and scalability

  • Implement best security, governance, and compliance practices across cloud environments

  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to cloud infrastructure, including network,compute, and storage problems

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, helping develop their technical skills and cloudexpertise

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into cloud solutions

  • Stay updated on the latest cloud trends, services, and best practices to ensureoptimaluse of cloud platforms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degreein computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ yearsof experience in cloud engineering, with at least3 yearsworking with AWS and Azure

  • Strong experiencedesigning and deployingcloud architecture, including microservices, serverless computing, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Proficient in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools likeTerraform

  • Experience with automation tools likeAnsible,Puppet, orChef

  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., VPN, VPC, DNS, and load balancing)

  • Familiarity with security best practices, such as identity management, encryption, and key management

  • Experience with monitoring tools likeCloudWatch,Azure Monitor, orDatadog

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus

Required Skills

  • Strong communicationskills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as required

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience inDevOpspractices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation

  • Proficiency with scripting languages likePythonorPowerShell

  • Experience with multi-cloud management and hybrid cloud architectures

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $100,000 - $170,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
