Microsoft’s AI Red Team is looking for a Senior Program Manager with prior experience in red teaming, particularly from the angle of responsible AI/trust and safety. You will help manage the full AI red team life cycle: from identifying what kind of failures need to be red teamed for, marshaling the red teamers to complete the operation, and disseminating the findings to stakeholders. At Microsoft’s AI Red Team, you will get to work alongside security experts to push the boundaries of AI Red Teaming. We are an interdisciplinary group of red teamers, adversarial Machine Learning (ML) researchers, Responsible AI experts and software developers with the mission of proactively finding failures in Microsoft’s big bet AI systems. Your work will impact Microsoft’s AI portfolio including Phi series, Bing Copilot, Security Copilot, Github Copilot, Office Copilot and Windows Copilot. We are focused on Open source and helping the community with our research, releasing tools such as Counterfit and PyRIT. Publishing papers is not required but encouraged in this group. Responsibilities
As a Senior TPM you will be focused on delivering capabilities in partnership within teams at Microsoft, You will work with cross-functional teams of product managers, Data and Applied Scientists, Red Teamers and Pentesters, Designers and Engineering leads to build new product experiences, shape underlying capabilities and features that support these experiences, and foster a culture of innovation and high-craft product making.
Define and evaluate metrics for success and sustaining health so teams stay on track and maintain a high-quality bar.
Build partnerships and partner closely with leadership in Engineering, Product Management, Research, and Vendors to create clarity, identify the highest value opportunities, and drive execution.
Partner with Engineering and Research to develop rock solid, extensible infrastructure and/or architecture designs.
Improve efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.
Manage ambiguity (crisp prioritization) and define scale-out options that are well understood and executed across the team and our partners.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years’ experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, product development, Red Teaming, Pen Testing, Trust and Safety
OR equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects, pentesting/red teaming operations, and delivering highly effective and collaborative results in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Real world Trust and Safety/Responsible AI experience, especially working with human-generated or AI-generated harmful materials across multiple media types and creating objective recommendations, grounded and supported by research and data.
Preferred multilingual proficiency, especially in languages used in Microsoft userbase in Europe, EMEA and APAC region
Experience in national security, specifically CBRN
An adversarial mindset and familiarity with the cadence and flow of AI red team engagements. Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to Responsible AI including but not limited to ethics, chemistry, biology, linguistics, sociology, psychology, medicine, or 2+ years' experience in these fields. a socio-technical safety space (e.g. online safety, privacy).
1-2+ year(s) experience working as a security or safety focused PM.
Demonstrate the ability to learn and apply learning to improve business outcomes, positive impact for the team and self.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
