Caris Life Sciences Senior Medical Director in Austin, Texas
Position Summary
The Precision Oncology Alliance (POA) is Caris’ global network of top cancer centers and research institutions that collaborate to advance precision oncology and biomarker-driven research. We are seeking a clinically- experienced, board-certified medical oncologist to provide subject matter expertise and leadership in approximately four of our fifteen Oncology disease working groups, as well as relationship support for approximately 25 POA sites in the Northeast United States. The Senior Medical Director will be responsible for representing Caris’ clinical and scientific expertise and building collaborative relationships (internally and externally).
Job Responsibilities
Function as a leading face of Caris’ clinical and scientific expertise in the marketplace.
Build high-value relationships with key customers, key opinion leaders, and the scientific and medical communities.
Work closely with the Company’s POA Chair and leads, the Chief Medical Officer, molecular science liaisons and others in collaboration on important work to advance the Company’s growth, products, reputation and more.
Work collaboratively with field sales (Key Account Directors and Executive Sales Management) and others to increase Caris’ clinical and scientific profile and enhance relationship with key customers, opinion leaders, and potential business partners.
Serve as a medical/scientific brand expert for the Caris Molecular Intelligence platform.
Drive support for scientific/educational strategies and tactics such as clinical and disease area publications, advisory boards, slide libraries, advocacy development, review of product advertising and promotional materials, and professional/continuing education programs.
Provide support and training to field-based personnel such as Medical Science Liaisons and any other field personnel.
Represent Medical Affairs on Caris Evidence Team to guide product drug association rules and related medical/scientific decisions.
Review of Marketing/Sales materials to ensure a high value clinical message.
Serve as key communication channel between market and R&D/Product Development to ensure product evolution meets evolving market needs (voice to R&D).
Required Qualifications
Must hold a doctorate-level degree in medicine with board certification in oncology.
At least two years of direct oncology patient care experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong background in personalized medicine in the oncology space.
Background in Gastrointestinal Oncology.
Outcomes research experience.
Physical Demands
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use standard office equipment.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Air/road travel mainly within the United States.

Other
- This position requires periodic travel and some evenings, weekends and/or Holidays.
Annual Hiring Range
$315,000 - $375,000 base salary + potential for significant additional incentive compensation
Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
