Job Description:

The Senior Interchange & Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting enterprise goals by ensuring ongoing compliance with Card Brand rules and regulations. This role is responsible for implementation & QA of pre-post card brand Spring/Fall releases. Additional responsibility include daily review of reclasses and monthly reconciliation analysis of merchant fee billing and card brand invoices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze daily card brand reclassification reporting for potential improvements to minimize scope.

  • Make recommendations & assist with implementation of solutions to improve interchange qualification which may include changes to internal processes or systems; merchant equipment, software, or merchant procedures.

  • Proactively review card brand passthrough fee logic, and NCR Schedule A fees and identify logic faults, working directly with Engineering to correct/update as needed.

  • Proactively review interchange qualification logic by merchant industry and identify logic faults, working directly with Engineering to correct/update as needed.

  • Manage and support compliance with Card Brand data integrity programs, including research and analysis to identify root cause and required remedial actions.

  • Monthly reconciliation analysis RE: merchant fee billing & card brand invoices, working directly with Accounting department.

  • Provide compliance support and expertise related to Card Brand and sponsor bank audits.

  • Work in tandem with Compliance & IT division to ensure card brand release updates that impact qualification are correctly implemented.

  • Own procedural documentation and perform ongoing evaluation of processes and procedures; continual refinement to support optimization of compliance activities.

  • Provide subject matter expertise related to Card Brand rules, serving both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Formal education level: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Training: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Skills & proficiencies:

  • At least 5 years of Payments industry experience with Card Brand rules & regulations.

  • TSYS platform experience heavily preferred

  • Posses a strong understanding of interchange & transaction qualification logic. Able to translate compliance updates into digestible content for the operations & sales team(s).

  • Extensive Microsoft Excel skill required. Experience in SQL database query a plus.

  • Proficienty at math and analytics

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively, which maintaining attention to detail.

  • Able to navigate complexity and unforeseen roadblocks, recognizing when course correction is required, and adjust accordingly.

  • Motivated self-starter who operates with an ownership mindset.
