United States Army Futures Command Security Specialist in Austin, Texas

Summary About the Position: This position serves as Security Specialist, DE-0080-03 in Army Futures Command (AFC), G3/5/7 located in Austin, TX. Visit us on www.armyfuturescommand.com and join the team leading the Army into the future Responsibilities Incumbent serves as the Army Future Command (AFC) Physical Security Program Manager and alternate Operations Security Officer and Program Manager, assigned to the AFC HQ G-3/5/7 Protection branch. Conducts command-wide physical security program management and provides programmatic oversight of AFC direct report organizations to ensure regulatory compliance and the adequacy of subordinate physical security programs. Leads and coordinates command-wide physical security efforts with direct report organizations for risk management, governance, program assistance visits, resourcing, exercises, assessments, plans and policy development. Provides expert staff advice, interpretation, assistance, consultation and information on all issues related to Physical Security, specifically in areas where the policies are unclear, unprecedented or controversial. Provides technical advice and assistance to AFC leaders and direct reporting organizations in the form of special surveys, inspections, and studies on matters pertaining to physical security and force protection of conventional and surety sites. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) analyzing physical security program requirements; 2) implementing procedures, policies, and practices governing access control, guard, intrusion, and surveillance detection programs; 3) assisting in the establishment of new methods, techniques and solutions to satisfy security program requirements; 4) conducting physical security program reviews and on-site surveys and evaluations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DB-2/GS-5-11) Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
