Develop and maintain training programs: Design and implement structured training curriculum using HackTheBox and other cybersecurity learning platforms. Ensure training aligns with NIST NICE framework, and create individualized development plans for students to track progress across various cybersecurity roles and skills.HackTheBox Platform Management: Manage and administer HackTheBox platform licenses and ensure that training activities are aligned with RSOC objectives. Regularly assess and curate HackTheBox modules to align with current cybersecurity threats and operational needs and provide hands-on guidance and support to students navigating HackTheBox challenges, ensuring they gain practical experience in cybersecurity techniques and incident response.Student training and onboarding: Develop an onboarding program for new student employees that includes both technical training and RSOC operational procedures. Conduct workshops, live training sessions, and one-on-one coaching to reinforce cybersecurity concepts and skills. Organize hackathons, capture-the-flag (CTF) events, and collaborative learning exercises to encourage peer learning and skill sharpening.Continuous Learning and Mentorship: Facilitate ongoing training sessions, ensuring that students stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, tools, and methodologies. Mentor students and help them apply training to real-world RSOC tasks, such as threat hunting, vulnerability management, and incident response. Establish a feedback loop to assess training effectiveness and refine the curriculum as needed.Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with the RSOC Manager and engineers from the Information Security Office to align training with operational needs and future service offerings. Track student progress, maintain records of certifications and completed training, and report on training outcomes. Assist in preparing students for certifications that align with the RSOC's objectives (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Splunk certification).Outreach and External Collaboration: Collaborate with other Texas-based RSOCs and the Texas Department of Information Resources to share best practices, resources, and training materials. Support outreach efforts aimed at recruiting new talent and raising awareness of the experiential learning opportunities offered through the RSOC.Other related functions as assigned.
