Position : Regional Counsel

Location : Austin, TX

Atlas is looking for someone to join our Legal Team as Regional Counsel to be located in one of our hub offices. The Regional Counsel will be responsible for contracting and general legal support for one of Atlas’s U.S. regions. Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Be a valued and trusted member of the regional operations team to provide legal advice and contracting support.

  • Structure, draft, review and negotiate various commercial contracts, agreements and other legal documents with clients, contractors, suppliers and business partners.

  • Advise internal stakeholders as to contract status and legal risks and the legal liabilities associated with projects and transactions. Act as the day-to-day legal point of contact for operations within the Region, partnering and coordinating with other members of the Legal Department and Company, as appropriate.

  • Deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice with a focus on meeting the Company and Regional goals in a legally compliant manner.

  • Anticipate legal issues, apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on potential legal issues.

  • Collaborate with other members of the Legal Team to continuously improve the Legal Team’s processes and operations.

  • Investigate, negotiate and manage contractual claims and disputes within the Region.

  • Assist and support other members of the Legal Department as needed.

  • Perform other duties as many be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience with 3 to 5 years of related industry experience preferred

  • Experience with the contracting process for Alternative Delivery Projects, including negotiating contracts specific to Design Build Projects, preferred

  • Experience with professional engineering and construction licensing preferred

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, high value for client service and collaboration

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment

  • Juris Doctorate from a recognized institution, with state bar membership in good standing

Other Miscellaneous Qualities:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the work generally requires the routine physical demands associated with an office job, including working from a desk with a computer and movement within the office setting.

  • Regular domestic travel for meetings and project site visits will be required from time to time.
