A summary of benefits can be found athttps://www.puc.texas.gov/HumanResources/Home/Benefits DIVISION COMPLIANCE ENFORCEMENT POSITION TYPE - This is a hybrid position and is eligible for telecommuting up to five (5) days a week but may be required to come into the office for scheduled meetings, and there may be unscheduled requests with appropriate notice for any PUC business need. The Division of Compliance Enforcement (DICE) investigates and litigates potential violations of Public Utility Regulatory Act (PURA), Texas Water Code, the Commissions substantive and procedural rules, state reliability standards, and ERCOT Protocols to promote adherence to customer protection requirements for consumers of electricity, water, and sewer services; maintenance of a reliable and safe electric power system; access to competitive telecommunications services; and access to and preservation of a competitive wholesale electricity market. DICE is seeking anAttorney who has a desire to work in the utility regulatory industry and would like to expand their knowledge, skills and experience performing moderately complex to advanced legal work related to electric, telecommunications, and water regulation. Primary duties involve the practice of administrative law, including, but not limited to, representing the public interest in contested cases before the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) and the Commission; providing legal and policy advice to agency staff and the Commissioners. SALARY RANGE Salarycommensurate with Qualifications Attorney II Attorney III Attorney IV Starting Salary $88,200.00 $99,225.00 $110,250.00 Max Salary $99,750.00 $115,500.00 $131,250.00 Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have the following required minimum qualifications: Attorney II Graduation from an accredited law school with LLB or JD degree; licensed with the State Bar of Texas and eligible to practice law in Texas; and a minimum of two (2) years of legal work experience as a licensed attorney. Attorney III Graduation from an accredited law school with LLB or JD degree; licensed with the State Bar of Texas and eligible to practice law in Texas; and a minimum of three (3) years legal work experience as a licensed attorney, preferably in utility regulation or administrative law. Attorney IV Graduation from an accredited law school with LLB or JD degree; licensed with the State Bar of Texas and eligible to practice law in Texas; and a minimum of four (4) years legal work experience as a licensed attorney, preferably in utility regulation or administrative law. Preferred Qualifications: Legal experience with electric, telecommunications, or water and sewer utility issues. Two (2) years legal experience in administrative law with emphasis in regulatory compliance.
