Insight Global Product Safety Engineer in Austin, Texas

Job Description

Responsibilities:

 Serve as a customer technical contact.

 Interpret standards and apply the requirements to products under investigation.

 Create and implement test procedures.

 Conduct tests in accordance with standards and procedures, record results.

 Ensure that test equipment is calibrated or tested and operates properly.

 Interface with and update the department manager and/or technical manager and/or department director.

 Assist as necessary with training of junior technicians and engineers.

 Review files and reports prepared by project engineers.

 Monitor multiple projects underway.

 Prepare certification reports and related documents.

 Assist management with quoting

 Assist sales with closing new work

 Other dues as deemed appropriate by management and for which management believes adequate experiences exists, or for which knowledge can be easily obtained in order to perform such duties.

Skills and Requirements

1-3 years of experience as a product safety engineer utilizing standards 62368 (Industrial) and/or 60601-1 (Medical Device) in a testing facility/laboratory

 Great communication skills (external and internal)

 Knowledge of product safety and assessing product certification

 Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field Experience with other testing standards

 Experience developing quotes for clients null
