Oracle Principal DevOps Engineer in Austin, Texas
Job Description
This position supports the SSU's Engineering and Product teams for developing, releasing and deploying SSU’s SaaS software suites. The position is part of the cloud operations organization and works closely with SSU engineering team to develop, test, and maintain SSU Activate, Select, Analyze as well as OPR product lines. The position focuses on OCI based application development, testing and deployment.

Responsibilities
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Create and maintain QA/customer environments in a scalable and automated manner.Design and develop next generation orchestration-based scheduling systems on Kubernetes.Being automation engineer, develop automation solutions for customer needs or for integrationwith Oracle’s infrastructure tools.Debug, troubleshoot and provide root cause analysis for production issues.Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.Manage a set of security controls and ensure access conforming to Oracle’s security policies.Grant and revoke ssh access and database access as operational procedures. Apply regular security scan and penetration tests. Monitor and review security logs and reports on cloud. Maintain dynamic security scan tests as well as static security analysis. Design and develop secure storage and rotation of passwords and encryption keys.
Design and develop CI/CD pipeline to ensure minimum delay from code to ship and ensure quickest feedback to developers as possible.Study and understand application characteristics including business demand drivers, transaction metrics, utilization and response time requirementsHelp engineering team to debug application issues.Work together with Customer Support team to address customer issues in timely and efficientmanners.Deploy and roll out of applications to Oracle’s internal environments and to client’senvironments. Design and develop automations and processes to streamline software setup anddeployment processes.Proactively monitor and measure production environments to check for any bottlenecks orissues around system setup, network availability, application performance and advice the team on solutions.
Qualifications:
Technical requirements:
Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science
Expert in docker technology
Experience in Build Automation tools like Jenkins, or TeamCity
Experiences with Kubernetes
Experiences with Terraform is a plus
Expert in configuration management tools like Chef, puppet, or ansible.
Worked with Amazon AWS Cloud infrastructure or google cloud
Past experiences with Ruby on rails, Java, or NodeJS is a plus.
Proficient in Git, Git Lab, Elk
Hands-on experiences with any of these CI tools: CI/CD, Jenkins, Circle CI, or teamcity.
Documentation and communication skills
Other requirements:
Must be a team player
Experience in any of the deployment tools like Ansible or Chef.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences.
Experience in one or more of the following Python or Ruby or Java.
understand Devops tools and processe
Experience in Linux/Unix environment Experience in any of the deployment automation tools like Puppet Ansible, Chef or Salt.
Demonstrate strong ability to delivery and show passion.
Will be handling production escalation calls/emails support as and when required.

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
