GENERAL DESCRIPTIONPerforms highly complex (senior-level) contract management work for the Child Supports Technology Contracts Management Division. Work involves meeting with business areas and technology vendors; documenting business area needs; participating in contract planning and contract formation, including assessment of performance standards and monitoring plans; and monitoring vendor performance to determine compliance with contract terms and conditions, laws and regulations. OAG employees enjoy excellent benefits (https://ers.texas.gov/Benefits-at-a-Glance) along with tremendous opportunities to do important work at a large, dynamic state agency making a positive difference in the lives of Texans.Opportunities to do important work at a large, dynamic state agency making a positive difference in the lives of Texans.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONSMonitors contract performance by examining billings, fiscal data, and performance data for compliance with terms of contract and policiesReviews and approves vendor services, deliverables, and invoicing Evaluates expenditure and/or performance data to ensure appropriate use of funds and continuous improvement of business processesAssists in tracking, budgeting and forecasting for IT related contractsInvestigates and documents contract compliance issues, complaints, or discrepanciesProvides guidance to both internal and external stakeholders regarding contract administration, policies, and proceduresWorks with program staff in determining trends and resolving problems; recommends activities to produce a more effective programUpdates data and information related to Contracts in the division's database or other electronic filesPerforms related work as assignedMaintains relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functionsAttends work regularly in compliance with agreed-upon work scheduleEnsures security and confidentiality of sensitive and/or protected informationComplies with all agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduation from high school or equivalentEducation: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: business administration, Child Support Program, contract management, information technology, government or legalExperience: Four years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: business administration, Child Support Program, contract management, information technology, government or legalKnowledge of office practices and administrative proceduresKnowledge of organizational behavior, including assuming and sharing responsibilitySkill in effective oral and written communication and the presentation of dataSkill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlinesSkill in effective oral and written communicationSkill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision makingAbility to receive and respond positively to constructive feedbackAbility to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environmentAbility to provide excellent customer serviceAbility to ork in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travelAbility to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSAAbility to lift and relocate 30 lbs.Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 5% PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSTwo years of experience with financial operations or a related fieldOne year of Child Support experienceKnowledge of State Government operationsAbility to earn Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) TO APPLY To apply for a job with the OAG, electronic applications can be submitted through CAPPS Recruit.
