Job/Position DescriptionThis is a technical position on the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Information Technology Services (ITS) DevOps team. The Systems Analyst IV position primarily works in the coordination of release activities. This also includes release management, change management, managing builds and deployments, system administration, and documentation.The Systems Analyst IV position works directly with other DevOps team members, and collaborates closely with all stakeholders including project managers, testing teams, and management to coordinate the on-time and quality release of software to production. The Systems Analyst IV position will manage the software development life cycle (SDLC) systems and processes, manage the build and deployment systems, document changes and processes, record change approvals, and provide release coordination.The applicant should have effective communication and collaboration skills. In addition, they should be comfortable communicating in different formats including written, spoken, and presentations. The applicant should also have a technical understanding and prior experience working in a software development setting. This position works with minimal supervision and reports to the DevOps Manager.Essential Job Functionsand#149; Communicating changes to all involved stakeholders in the SDLCand#149; Maintaining and managing the version control systems and source codeand#149; Managing the change and release information to ensure full documentationand#149; Utilizing version control systems (VCS) to examine code, resolve code conflicts, and coordinate mergesand#149; Ensuring all lead-up tasks to deployments and post-deployment are verified and completedand#149; Performing source code management in multiple environments and systems and#149; Administrating the developer test environments on Linux, Unix, and Windows Serverand#149; Supporting and assisting developers with environment or VCS questionsand#149; Utilizing monitoring, automation, and SDLC-management tools to ensure applications are functionaland#149; Working to contribute to and develop build and deployment tools and scriptsand#149; Assisting with proof-of-concept studies on new technologies and processesand#149; Assisting with cross-training team members and#149; Staying up to date on technologies such as: Jenkins, Ansible, WebSphere, WebSphere Portal, WebLogic, SVN; Atlassian Suite: Jira Software, Jira Service Management (Jira Service Desk), BitBucket (Git)and#149; Adheres to all Texas Department of Family and Protective Services HR policies and performs related work as assigned.
