Gummi World Financial Controller in Austin, Texas

Gummi World is looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in our Austin, Texas office. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. As a key leader in the finance team, the Financial Controller will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain robust internal controls, and provide strategic insights to support decision-making.

This role is ideal for a seasoned financial professional who thrives in dynamic environments and has a strong track record of driving efficiency and maintaining financial integrity.

This is an in person role. We require an individual who was formerly a c-suite executive and/or has multiple transferrable skills in manufacturing working with multiple entities.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards.

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

  • Develop and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and controls.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning.

  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Audit & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure smooth and efficient processes.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Provide training and guidance to team members on financial processes and best practices.

Strategic Support

  • Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.

QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including leadership roles.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and regulatory compliance.

  • Proficient in financial management systems (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with multiple industries including manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and automation initiatives.
