Gummi World Financial Controller in Austin, Texas
Gummi World is looking for a Financial Controller to join our team in our Austin, Texas office. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. As a key leader in the finance team, the Financial Controller will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain robust internal controls, and provide strategic insights to support decision-making.
This role is ideal for a seasoned financial professional who thrives in dynamic environments and has a strong track record of driving efficiency and maintaining financial integrity.
This is an in person role. We require an individual who was formerly a c-suite executive and/or has multiple transferrable skills in manufacturing working with multiple entities.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
Develop and implement robust financial policies, procedures, and controls.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Audit & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Provide training and guidance to team members on financial processes and best practices.
Strategic Support
Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including leadership roles.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and regulatory compliance.
Proficient in financial management systems (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with multiple industries including manufacturing.
Demonstrated success in process improvement and automation initiatives.
