Project ManagementAdvise the Dean, leadership team, and key stakeholders on the technical and logistical aspects of maintenance, renovation and design. Contribute to the SOAs culture and community by offering strategic recommendations for facility improvements, supporting exhibitions, ensuring studio safety and cleanliness, and managing small-scale facility projects (e.g., relocations, furniture procurement, short-term renovations) to uphold and enhance the schools commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.Serve as the project manager architectural design, construction, and implementation logistics for major renovation projects. Oversee all facets of building, equipment, maintenance, and installation to ensure successful project delivery.Assist with renovation projects by coordinating building outages, managing follow-up tasks, preparing work sites, and providing regular updates to stakeholders.Prepare specifications for contracted work, oversee and inspect performance, and establish quality and quantity standards to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and departmental policies and needs.Ensure that the historic significance of buildings and grounds is recognized and respected by contractors and university service personnel, while maintaining the integrity of building aesthetics.Work with event planners in consideration of space or furniture needs, as needed.Facilities and Operational ManagementDevelop, plan, and coordinate facilities maintenance work and projects for the SOA, leading the solution of all issues, prioritizing needs, minimizing disruptions, and ensuring adherence to project schedules.Develop and implement plans for recurring and preventive maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, and utility systems, white creating and maintaining a long-term master plan to address these needs.Process requisitions for maintenance work, upgrades, and repairs, and performs minor maintenance tasks as appropriate.Ensure facilities are kept clean, safe, and compliant with university safety guidelines.Responsible for streamlining and maintaining performance of operations to efficiently support the needs of research, instruction and administration.Space AdministrationCollaborate with leadership to analyze and make decisions regarding building and space needs, policies, utilization and faculty/staff placement.Gather data for annual reports, providing accurate space and occupancy information to the Office of Academic Space Planning and Management (ASPM), along with general building details and space/equipment inventories.Plan and oversee office relocation plans and architecture studio configurations each semester ensuring each room is equipped with adequate furniture and desks.Building Safety and SecurityManage security and emergency planning, including building safety policies, emergency preparedness and communication, fire prevention and inspections, and the planning and oversight of security systems.Develop and implement a building and facility access policy for the SOA ensuring in alignment with UT Austins institutional policies.Maintain and update records of all personnel who have access to college spaces, ensuring compliance with ongoing campus safety and security recommendations.Collaborate with the college communications team to distribute timely, accurate, and proactive notices to the community about building safety and security.Maintain and manage building security systems, including BACS scheduling, ID card reader access, video surveillance, lock/unlock schedules, and issuance of lock, key, and ID-access issue.Other related functions as assigned, such as: representing SOA at meetings as necessary; creating, maintaining, and promoting technologically advanced protocols; ensure ADA compliance.
