Brief Description/Overview:
Conversions Specialist will be responsible for working to onboard new clients into our system, as well as other retirement compliance tasks. Person successful at the job will have high analytical skills, be personable, and is eager to learn. They must have entrepreneurial spirit to build and maintain their own product within the organization. This person must have a working knowledge of ERISA and non-ERISA retirement plan rules. The individual will also be required to stay up to date on current legislative and regulatory issues affecting employee retirement plans.
Responsibilities:
Managing all aspects of the onboarding process and successful transition of new plans to our platform
Coordinating with Financial Advisors, Plan Sponsors, prior recordkeepers, and/or Third Party Administrators to determine conversion timelines, key action items, and delivery dates, as well as communicating overall project status to both external and internal stakeholders
Collaborating cross-functionally to provide support where needed and ensure the team can deliver against expected Service Level Agreements
Manage deadlines – work within allotted time frames.
Manages caseload effectively to meet or exceed departmental service goals and partner specific service levels for quality and timelines.
Effectively respond to internal/external customer inquiries via phone and written correspondence
Requirements:
Four-year Degree Required
Minimum of 2 Years’ Experience in Retirement Plan Industry
Subject matter knowledge of retirement plan design and plan conversion processes from point of sale to release of conversion data
Computer literacy with recordkeeping systems and trust systems (FIS Relius); and experience with plan reconciliations.
Ability to work overtime as necessary
Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills.
Basic knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations, and plan documents (individually designed and prototypes).
Familiarity MS-Office software applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Demonstrated aptitude for learning, creating, and iterating rapidly
Preferred:
General knowledge of ERISA rules and requirements, and experience with one or more compliance/recordkeeping systems (e.g. SunGard Relius, ASC, FIS)
Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) or higher ASPPA credential
Job Classification & Additional Information:
Job Classification: Full-Time
Austin TX, with flexibility to work from home couple of days a week.
Position hours are 8am - 5pm, 9am – 6pm, or 10am - 7pm, Monday - Friday.
