WESCO Engineer - Quality Assurance in Austin, Texas

As the Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer you will perform inspections and set quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. You will support Operations to meet all customer requirements, product specifications, and process improvement actions. You will identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for product quality and prepare and present reports on findings to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and address the compliance of customer specifications and product specifications.

  • Develop procedures to solve standard material and product quality issues.

  • Develop and plan material, product and system tests.

  • Understand the challenges withWesco Testing and Customer Integration Testing

  • Analyze material, product and system test results for quality assurance standards.

  • Identify, suggest and implement solutions to solve material and product quality problems.

  • This position will be the voice of the customer responsible for Customer Quality interactions across many customers and will work closely with multi-functional teams across the organization to drive ongoing improvements in quality processes to support our customers

  • Create and present reporting on quality of materials, products and systems to stakeholders.

  • This position will directly interface with leaders across all functions to enable world-class product development, customer qualification, implementation, and execution of best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree - Engineering required Or 10 plus years in the Quality Engineering field

  • 3-5 years of Quality Assurance Engineer experience

  • 3-5 years of experience with a variety of different testing techniques

  • 8D Methodology Experience

  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) experience

  • Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan experience

  • Statistical Process Controls (SPC) experience

  • Experience with Six Sigma.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering test methodology, tools, standards and procedures

  • Ability to manage and reprioritize projects with multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

  • Time management skills

  • Critical thinker

  • Ability to travel 0-25% of the time
