Works directly with the Department Chair and other leaders to develop and implement short and long-term planning for department needs, including developing and strategizing plans for staffing, hiring, budget oversight, onboarding and other personnel-related actions of all clinical social workers across the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.Provides direct supervision of social workers within their respective clinical settings within the department, with a focus on ethical patient care, interprofessional collaboration and ongoing professional development. Available for prompt consultation outside of the regular clinical supervision hours for emergent needs.Responsible for development, standardization and oversight of documentation practices for social workers (including ongoing technical support regarding EHR and billing). Responsible for regular review of supervisee(s) documentation of patient encounters in electronic health records in a timely manner.Communicates UT Health Austin policies, procedures, timelines, position duties and performance expectations to social work employees. Duties include monitoring and evaluation of employee performance, coaching, counseling, motivating and disciplining employees. Ensures that all social workers adhere to training requirements for UT Health Austin.Represents Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences for internal and external speaking/presentation requests as needed.Performs other related functions as assigned.
