:Leadership of Business Services Unit, overseeing the administration of Financial, Human Resources, Information Technology, Contracts, and Business Services. Perform overall administration of financial, human resources, information technology, contracts and business office functions of Recreational Sports. Oversee asset management, internal control and audit systems for compliance with departmental and university policies, and implement changes as needed. Evaluate systems and processes for greatest effectiveness and efficiency as required. Serve as the departmental liaison regarding any audits.Financial Leadership and Budget Management. Financial oversight and administer the preparation of all departmental budget planning. Manage multiple auxiliary enterprise fund groups, including development of budget strategies, preparation for committee reviews, budget processing, departmental allocations, year-end projections and long-term forecasting. Give financial presentations to various groups. Develop and maintain expert knowledge of business operations for the department. Manage UBIT process and endowment/gift accounts for department. Monitor reserve and account balances and review reconciliation reports.Business Services Staff Management and Project Management. Manage the Business Services staff within Recreational Sports and indirectly supervise additional full-time and part-time staff in the area, fostering engagement, influence, and mentorship to ensure accountability and adherence to the highest standards. Provide skilled project management for complex projects that fall within areas of responsibility. Ensure that all projects meet deadlines, stay within budget, and align with department goals. Lead cross-functional teams and work closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.Senior Staff Leadership and Strategic Planning. Provide leadership as a Senior Staff member of Recreational Sports, working directly with the Executive Director and other senior staff members to establish strategic goals and make decisions. Apprise group of pertinent business and financial information, provide counsel, and be responsive to affiliated goals of professional staff members. Make recommendations to leadership to optimize the use of reserves. Represent the department at the Executive Directors request by participating in on- and off-campus meetings. Work with other campus entities and departmental stakeholders as needed. Serve as the departmental liaison with UT Legal.University Liaison and External Communication. Serve as liaison with University and University Systems personnel relative to financial, budgetary, and business-related issues. Address inquiries and collaborate with university departments to resolve financial or operational concerns. Participate in university-wide meetings as required and represent the departments interests.Special Projects, Research, and Other Duties. Conduct in-depth research and analysis on financial, organizational, and budget issues and initiatives to provide senior leadership with information and recommendations, as assigned. Respond to inquiries, surveys, or requests from other universities relative to financial, budgetary, HR, or business issues of the department. Serve as a contributing member of the staff. Serve on committees, and work on special projects. Other duties as assigned.
