Develop and manage a calendar of monthly events designed to address critical areas such as college transition, community building, financial literacy, campus navigation, and self-advocacy for first-year first-generation students. Collaborate with campus departments and community organizations to enhance event offerings and ensure comprehensive support for first-year, first-generation students. Develop and implement strategies to increase student engagement and participation in programs and events. Manage event logistics, including budget, scheduling, venue selection, materials preparation, and promotion. Collect and analyze feedback from students to continuously improve program offerings.Recruit, hire, train, and supervise graduate and undergraduate student staff who work to support the Success Coach mentor program for first-year, first-generation students. Provide ongoing support and professional development opportunities for undergraduate success coaches to ensure they effectively assist first-year students with their transition to college. Provide ongoing supervision and support to the graduate students who monitor and provide support for the success coaches, offering feedback and guidance as needed.Serve as a point of contact for first-generation students who want to meet and provide guidance and support as they navigate their college experience. Develop, write, and edit engaging bi-weekly or monthly newsletter content. Create and manage content for social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) tailored to first-year, first-generation students.Assist with campus-wide programming to celebrate first-generation college students, including First-Gen Camp, First Gen Welcome, First Gen Celebration Week, First-Gen Graduation, and other annual events. This function includes marketing, communicating with campus partners, managing projects, and managing day-to-day logistics.Maintain accurate records of program activities, student participation, and success coach performance. Manage budget for program events and activities, ensuring effective use of resources. Prepare reports and presentations for departmental meetings, evaluations, and development opportunities. Work with Development on fundraising opportunities.
