UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Construction Procurement Officer in Austin, Texas
Responsible for the process of solicitation and contract development, including identifying, negotiating, and awarding general and subcontractors, materials, and services required for the construction, expansion and remodeling of various UT locations. The selection of these construction services is through a competitive bid/RFP/RFQ process involving document preparation (scope, drawings, etc.) for projects, leading negotiations, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.Manage active contracts and purchase orders on an ongoing basis, monitoring compliance with contract requirements, contract expenditures, and contract renewal and end due dates. Responsible for preparing renewals, amendments, change orders, and closeout documentation as necessary. Provide expert guidance and consultation to all areas including internal and external constituents regarding procurement, opportunities and budget planning.Participate as an active part of the Project Team to provide guidance and assistance to Project Managers (PMs), the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Office and Business and Financial Services (BFS) to facilitate timely vendor payments and issue resolution. Cross train on other contract functions to provide back up to other team members. Assist in developing clear, compliant, scalable processes that assure compliance with BOR Rules and Regulations, applicable State and Federal statutes and regulations, and mitigate risks.Stay current in contracting guidelines applicable to design and construction from industry best practices and following UT System guidelines.Participate in or lead process improvement initiatives as assigned by the Director.Other related functions as assigned. Collaborate with other UT Austin colleagues to initiate and develop process improvements.
