Clickhereto see an inside look at the Texas Comptrollers office General description The Property Tax Assistance Division (PTAD) provides technical assistance to local governments and taxpayers on property tax issues. PTAD is split into two areas, Appraisal Operations and PTAD Programs, allowing the Division to meet customer needs and implement statutory requirements in many innovative ways. The Complex Property Appraisal Team specializes in the appraisal of commercial properties, business personal property, oil and gas properties, utility and railroad properties, and land used for agriculture and/or timber production. The team consists of eleven commercial appraisers, three business personal property appraisers, two oil and gas appraisers, two utility appraisers and two agricultural and timberland appraisers. For this position, we are looking for someone to assist with research and data collection and to provide complex support to the appraisal team. This position may be eligible for a flexible/hybrid work schedule if certain conditions are met; working arrangements may change at any time as business necessitates. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. Experience conducting research and analysis on complex topics. Experience developing, compiling, reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data sets Preferred Qualifications Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business, Communications, economics, English, finance, government, management, political science, public policy or a related field. Experience in a state agency, appraisal field and/or real estate industry, local government entities, or legislative office Experience in the property tax field Substitution: One (1) additional year of full-time experience in conducting research and analysis may substitute for thirty (30 semester hours) of the required education with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years). In this role you will: Conduct significant research, data collection, and market analysis.
